Herbs in French Cooking: Apéritif aux Herbes

You may remark as you explore Lyon's outdoor markets, that there are dozens of different fresh herbs piled on the farmers' tables in any given season. What role do they play in everyday cooking in France? In this delightful and relaxing workshop, we examine fresh herbs in French cooking through the seasons.

As part of this workshop, we familiarize ourselves with the appearance, texture, aroma and flavors of fresh herbs in the French culinary landscape. Classic French and regional herb groupings are covered in this class, as well as wild foraged herbs when available. This class culminates with an apéritif spread featuring dishes we prepare and an original cocktail that makes use of an aromatic herb-infused syrup that the group prepares in class.

This is a 3 hour workshop.
Non-alcoholic options are available, an apéro can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Unless otherwise noted, all classes are in English.
