Very Basic French Cooking - Group Class

This series for beginner cooks is designed to provide hands on experience with a base of useful recipes and techniques over time. The goal is to achieve a certain level of knowledge of French regional cooking and culinary traditions, covering one recipe, technique or subject in French cuisine or pastry per session. The classes were generally designed as a series for groups of English speakers living in or near Lyon, who have access to their own neighborhood markets. Students for this series have an interest in cooking with local ingredients and adding to their repertoire with regional cuisine as well as mastering technique. We have taught this series to groups of friends, work colleagues, and children.

Sessions are reserved for groups of 4-6 participants.
Classes are generally 2 hours long, and covers one dish per class.
This class is for beginner cooks of all ages.
This class is taught in English.
We ask that registration for private group classes be done well in advance to allow for planning and scheduling.

About Plum Lyon: The Plum Lyon kitchen welcomes you to come and cook in Lyon, the gastronomic capital of France. Located in the ancient silk-worker's district on the hill of the Croix Rousse, a UNESCO World Heritage site, the Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen is offering seasonal market classes, classic French cooking, children's workshops in English, and single subject ateliers that cover a chosen technique or theme in French cuisine. We accommodate 6 students per class. There is plenty of opportunity for hands-on learning in our classes.
