TERMS AND CONDITIONS, Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen
Thank you so much for your interest in a workshop at Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen. By reserving a place in any Plum Lyon workshop, please understand that all bookings require active confirmation that you have read and agree to our Terms and Conditions, noted below:
PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK YOUR RESERVED DATE!
When you sign up for a workshop, you will receive confirmation by e-mail. By agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree to double check your confirmation to ensure that the dates for the workshop you have reserved are correct. If you have made an error and reserved the wrong dates by accident, please immediately contact Lucy to alert her to this error: it is easily fixed if you tell her right away.
MINIMUM PARTICIPATION for CLASSES to TAKE PLACE
Plum's 5-Day Immersive Program has no minimum participant requirement. It will run with even one participant.
THIRD-PARTY RESERVATIONS
For specific legal reasons, we do not allow Plum's classes or workshops to be sold or re-sold as a product or part of a tour package by a third party. If a reservation is made as a group, the person making the reservation must be a part of the group. Agreeing to these terms and conditions, you confirm that you are not making a third-party reservation.
CANCELLATION POLICY
We understand that sometimes plans change. Since Plum Lyon's workshops are limited to a small number of participants, the following cancellation and refund policy helps us manage your reservations smoothly. By agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, you accept the following:
Refund Policy on Plum's 5-day Immersive Program:
- Grace Period: There is a grace period of 7 days after making a deposit or make a fully paid reservation. If you change your mind and cancel a fully paid 5-day workshop or a deposit less than 7 days after you register, you will receive a full refund, minus bank fees which are paid at the moment of transaction and cannot be recuperated.
- After the 7 day grace period, cancellations of a fully-paid workshop will receive an 80% refund up to 30 days before the workshop, and any 30% deposit that you have made to hold a spot in a workshop becomes non-refundable.
- Cancellations 14-30 days before a workshop will receive a 50% refund.
- Cancellations less than 14 days before a workshop are considered last minute and do not receive a refund.
Waiting lists: In the case of any cancellation, if there is a waiting list for the workshop you initially registered for, we will do our best to fill the spot from the waiting list. If a replacement is found from the waiting list, even at the last minute, you will receive an 80% refund. Therefore if you need to make a last minute cancellation, please contact Lucy immediately as soon as you know, so that she may consult everyone on the waiting list.
Bank Fees: Please note that bank fees associated with processing your payment are not recuperable by Plum and therefore are not refundable. Any refund issued will be based on the net amount received by Plum, which is up to 5% less than the amount you originally paid, due to bank transaction fees that cannot be recuperated.
No-shows and last-minute cancellations: Under no circumstances will we provide a refund to no-shows, or for a cancellation less than 14 days before a workshop begins if we cannot find a replacement for you.
Please be advised that Plum cannot absorb any fees or exchange lost though the refund process. All refunds are based on the net amount Plum receives when you sign up. We cannot be held accountable for external circumstances that affect your travel plans or events beyond our control.
FORCE MAJEURE
If Plum Lyon is forced to cancel a workshop due to government mandated closure in the case of public health emergency or catastrophic event, participants will immediately be offered the opportunity to transfer to a future workshop date. If rescheduling is not possible, a full refund will be issued. Plum Lyon cannot be held responsible for travel costs or other expenses incurred in this case.
DIETARY RESTRICTIONS AND SENSITIVITIES
Dietary restrictions, food allergies and sensitivites are handled on a case-by-case basis through direct contact by e-mail with Lucy at Plum Lyon before you register for a group class. Do not wait until after you have signed up to inform us of an allergy or dietary restriction, including vegetarian, pescatarian, or allergies or sensitivites.
If you inform us in advance, we can often develop strategies to allow you to enjoy what we are preparing through alternatives in plating, choices at service, or in some cases substitutions if it will not disrupt the flow of class. In agreeing to these terms and conditions, you agree that you will discuss any dietary restriction you have with Lucy prior to signing up for class to find out if your needs can be met during a workshop.
Please note: If you have life-threatening or severe allergies or a medically imposed elimination diet, please do not sign up for a group workshop. Instead you can inquire about the availability of a private workshop. This way we can take the measures necessary to meet your specific needs, and still do a great class for you.
COMMUNICABLE ILLNESS AND COOKING CLASSES
We understand that the unfortunate timing of illness while traveling is not just bad luck but can throw a serious wrench in plans. For this reason, we strongly suggest obtaining travel insurance that covers last minute cancellations due to illness. To protect the health of others attending a cooking workshop, guests with signs of communicable illness will not be permitted to attend Plum's workshops. Please know that if this situation occurs, Lucy is happy to help you arrange a medical visit to document the illness for your records.
Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen reserves the right to update or modify these terms and conditions at any time. Please know that the terms in effect at the time of your reservation will apply to each reservation. Thank you for your understanding and for taking the time to review this before signing up.
We look forward to welcoming you at Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen!
