Classes are held at the Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen, located at 49 rue des Tables Claudiennes, 69001 Lyon, France. The Market Table classes begin at 9:00 a.m., and the French Pastry classes begin at 1:00 p.m. We open the kitchen ten minutes prior to the beginning of class. We ask that you do everything you can to arrive on time. If you meet a delay and will be arriving more than 10 minutes late for a Market Table Class, please contact the Teaching Kitchen to arrange to catch up with the group.

Although it is quite rare, from time to time, our regularly-scheduled cooking classes will not achieve our minimum number of 2 participants.  If this happens, an effort will be made to find another suitable class convenient to your availability.  If a suitable replacement date cannot be found, you will receive a full refund.

For specific legal reasons, we do not allow Plum's classes to be sold or re-sold as a product or part of a tour package by a third party, tour operator, or travel agency.  If a reservation is made as a group, the person making the reservation must be in the group. Agreeing to these terms and conditions, you confirm that you are not a travel agent making a business oriented third-party reservation.

Dietary restrictions, food allergies and sensitivites are handled on a case-by-case basis through direct contact by e-mail with Lucy at Plum Lyon before you register for a class. They are generally accommodated through alternatives with plating.  As we are learning technique with classic recipes, French Pastry workshops cannot eliminate or make alternate versions to replace sugar, milk products or wheat flour.  We may accommodate vegetarian or selective meat requests in Market Table classes with the understanding that these choices may be prepared in class and presented to other guests at the table.  Please note:  If you have life-threatening or severe allergies or a medically imposed elimination diet, please do not sign up for a group class and instead inquire about the availability of a private class.  This way we can take the measures necessary to meet your specific needs - and still do a great class for you.

As of August 1, 2021, to participate in a cooking class, under French law, all adults (aged 18 and over) must be able to provide proof of a full course of vaccination completed at least one week prior to the activity.  Alternatively, you may provide proof of a negative PCR test taken by a certified medical professional within the 48 hours preceding your class, or proof of a positive PCR test dating from at least 11 days and up to 6 months before the activity.

Please ensure that you bring proof of your own vaccine or negative test result to your cooking class, as the government will be imposing penalties on our school if participants in our classes do not comply.  At the beginning of each class, we will be required to control your vaccination certificate or proof of negative PCR test dating less than 48 hours before the class.

Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen is making every effort to ensure that our classes are as safe as possible, including following government regulations and practicing optimum kitchen hygiene.  Despite this, we cannot guarantee zero risk of Covid transmission.  By continuing with your booking, you agree to assume the risk of taking part in a class with Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen, and will not hold Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen responsible in case of infection.

Our policy is designed to protect the health of our students, your loved ones and ours, and helps us continue to providing our classes without risk of interruption. We are very grateful for your cooperation, and look forward to welcoming you!

We understand that sometimes plans change or mistakes are made while you plan your trip. Since Plum Lyon's classes often have waiting-lists and every effort is made to fill the spot should you need to cancel, there's actually a good chance we can find someone to fill your spot if you need to cancel less than a month out.  If it turns out we can find a replacement, we will of course provide a 100% refund.

We guarantee 100% refund of your payment if Plum Lyon Teaching Kitchen is closed because of a COVID-19 contact case requiring isolation by your instructor or government imposed public health emergency that results in closure of our establishment.

Cancellation requests more than 30 days before a scheduled class will be honored with a refund.  If you cancel a month to two weeks out (30-15 days), we can provide you with a 50% refund if a replacement is not found from the class wait-list, or provide you with a voucher that will allow you to sign up for another Market Table class or French Pastry Workshop during the following 24 months.  Cancellations less than 15 days out cannot be refunded if a replacement is not found from the class wait-list.

Please be advised that Plum cannot absorb any fees or exchange lost though the refund process, nor can we be held accountable for circumstances or events beyond our responsibility.  We urge you to choose travel insurance with COVID-19 coverage that allows you the flexibility to cancel should you test positive or become a contact case requiring isolation before class.

Thanks for your kind understanding.  If you have questions, please contact us through this website.
